Braconnot at IPCC meeting

pascale braconnotPAGES SSC member Pascale Braconnot has been selected from more than 1000 nominations to take part in the Scoping Meeting for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).

The Scoping Meeting will be held from 1-5 May 2017 at the United Nations Conference Centre in the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The goal is to consider the outline of the Sixth Assessment Report at a Plenary session of the IPCC provisionally scheduled for October 2017.

Nominations from government and observer organisations totalled 1306, with 196 experts selected. IPCC secretary Abdalah Mokssit said the experts were chosen with an eye on covering all relevant disciplines and viewpoints and regional and gender balance. Efforts were also made to ensure adequate representation from IPCC user communities as well as balanced participation of individuals who have been involved in past IPCC reports and those who are new to the IPCC process.
